Stop Motion Blacksmith Video
As many of you know, besides my woodworking and photography, I also sell Norm Paulson’s blacksmithing on my ETSY site. Norm makes a wide range of candle holders, coat racks, and several other items. He is among a very small number of remaining blacksmiths out there.
A week or two ago, I went down to visit him and snapped some shots of him making a few of his items. I finally got around to turning these shots into a stop motion video. I plan to make several more videos, but here’s the first one. This video is of Norm making a towel holder out of a railroad spike. This item can be bought on my ETSY site at http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26594384 for a very low price of $12.00.
Which Photo Would YOU Buy?
So I’m getting ready for the Rosendale Street Festival. I want to bring some of my photography, but I’m having trouble deciding which photos to make prints of. I’d love to hear your input. Check out my site: www.RobinsonGreigPhotography.com and post the link to your favorite photo in a comment. It would really help me out. Thanks guys!
From High School to College
Hey Guys,
I won’t be able to post for the next few days. I have my High School Graduation today – actaully in 45 minutes haha – and then I leave tomorrow afternoon to go to Northeastern for orientation. I’ll be back Tuesday and will be sure to post then.
See ya!
Rosendale Street Festival
Mark this one down in your calenders – July 18th and 19th. My girlfriend and I will have a booth at the Rosendale Street Festival. She’s going to be selling her (underpriced) jewelry and I’ll be selling my photography and woodworking. Everyone should be there! It’s a very popular arts and crafts music festival in Rosendal, NY. Plus, you get to meet me if you haven’t already
.

Blogging
All the experts say that a successful blogger posts on their blog everyday. That’s harder than you think – especially for a photography blog. One of my goals this summer is to be more active with the blog. I have the tendancy to not upload new photos on my computer until the memory card is full, which is why when I do post, I end up attaching wayyy to many photos in each post. I took a few more photos for the farm project which I will edit and post tomorrow morning…hopefully haha.
Upfront Exhbition Space Gallery Opening
Last weeekend I went to my second gallery opening at the Upfront Exhibition Space in Port Jervis, NY. I’m really starting to get my name out there
. The show went well and I had a lot of support from several different people. I brought the camera this time and snapped a few shots for the blog – so here ya go:
One of the owners of the gallery is big into woodworking and wood art, so I brought one of my small cedar tables.
Blacksmithing – The Tools, The Process, The Result
As some of you may know, a big hobby of mine is woodworking. I make all kinds of things out of wood, ranging from keychains to tables. I’ve been working on selling my woodworking (as well as my photography) on sites like ebay and etsy and I noticed that generally stores and users on those sites that have a signifcantly larger amount of items do much better. So, I opened my personal store up to the arts and crafts community of the Hudson Valley. The store, now located at www.madeinthehv.com features the work of a few (and constantly growing) artists and crafters from the Hudson Valley. One of which is a blacksmith living in Florida, NY.
When I went down to his shop to pick up his work, I took the camera to do a short photoshoot with him. I then came back home and photographed his work and posted it on the site. Here’s a few shots I took that day.
